StreetART Flekkefjord began in 2015. Since then, we’ve added over 30 captivating artworks to the town. Here, you can admire the majestic Fisherman, the ornamental City Carpet, the Guardian watching over the town, Angel Wings in all the rainbow’s colors, and the giant Rabbit adorning a building wall at Fjellgaten 12. Flekkefjord Cultural Center Spira is a vibrant hub for culture in Flekkefjord, housing a library, cinema, cultural school, and the Blackbox theater. Located centrally at Elvegaten 1, Spira serves as the cultural heart of the town.

Life at Fidsel

At Fidsel, around 30 different vegetable varieties are grown without pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Visitors can enjoy honey, guided tours of the apiary, a diverse selection of vegetables, as well as traditional cured meats like pinnekjøtt and fenalår from their own sheep. They also take part in local events.

Downtown Flekkefjord is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts, brimming with sculptures, street art, and the iconic "Red Carpet" installation. Created by artist Christian Sunde, this piece was a gift to the city and its people from Flekkefjord Sparebank in celebration of the town’s 175th anniversary in 2017. A must-see—especially at night!

#finnhodet or #hiddenheads is a project artist Christian Sunde launched on Instagram in 2017, though the head project itself dates back much further. Scattered across nature, rural villages, towns, and cities, the Flekkefjord-based artist has hidden small iron heads in secret locations throughout Norway and beyond. Join the hunt!


Flekkefjord disc golf course

Disc golf is a sport where the goal is to reach the basket with the fewest throws. It can be played solo or in groups of 2–5. Obstacles on the course must not be removed, and the area should be kept clean. The player farthest from the basket throws first. The game ends when the disc lands in the basket. A run-up is allowed outside the 10-meter zone.

Experience the lunar landscape of Brufjell

Brufjell in Åna-Sira rises 184 meters above sea level, offering a breathtaking view of Listalandet. From the summit, a marked trail leads down to the giant’s kettles, a series of naturally formed rock formations arranged in a row on a plateau about 20 meters above sea level.

The two small cabins, painted in contrasting colors, were created by two local artists. They are placed in a mighty landscape overlooking the archipelago and the open sea.

At iconic Brufjell, you can walk on the same type of rock that is found on the moon. Note: At Brufjellhålene, you stand on a ledge with a steep drop straight into the open sea. The area is known for strong ocean currents and large waves. A fall into the water here can be life-threatening.

At BUA Flekkefjord you can borrow bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, fishing equipment, tents, hammocks, SUP boards, kayaks and more, for FREE!

You can rent bicycles for adults and children. Helmets are also available. Please note that the equipment pictured is not always identical to the equipment that is available.

Kayak rental

Kayaking is a wonderful way to get closer to nature. Flekkefjord has long standing traditions in kayaking. Citizens of Flekkefjord have won olympic medals and world championships.

Boat rental

Enjoy Flekkefjord by boat. It’s a wonderful experience to explore the city centre and the surrounding islands from the sea. The coast is full of unique selfie spots.

Magma Geopark is part of a network consisting of more than 140 UNESCO Global Geoparks in 40 different countries and on 5 continents. Flekkefjord Landscape Conservation Area is situated along the coast.
The rugged coastline offers a magnificent panoramic view of the area. Here you will find one of Norway's most beautiful islands, Hidra. The pot holes at Brufjell, Åna-Sira, are the area's most visited geographical sites. Flekkefjord is part of the Magma UNESCO Global Geopark, one of three UNESCO parks in Norway.

Grønnes beach

Grønnes is located a 5 minutes walk from Flekkefjord city centre, on the east side of the fjord. The area's immediate proximity to the city makes it popular as a recreational area for people of all ages. Read more

Kjørsfjell

The popular lookout point Kjørsfjell gives you a panoramic view from Hidra to Lista. In order to reach Kjørsfjell, start at the parking lot on Itland where you will find a well-marked trail to the popular lookout point. The hike is about 2.8 km to the top. Read more

Rauli

This 7.5 km hike has both signs and trail marking from Flekkefjord city centre, past Grønnes, and the outdoor recreation area in Rauli. It can be a fairly challenging hike if you do the whole round trip. The terrain varies between roads, gravel hiking paths and marked trails. Read more

Høgåsen

Høgåsen is situated a short distance from the city centre and offers a panoramic view of Flekkefjord. An evening trip up here can definitely be recommended, as the sunset can be enjoyed from the wodden "Good chair" placed on top of the mountain. Read more

Places to sleep

Grand Hotell

Built in beautiful Swiss style, Grand Hotell started hotel operations in 1868. But the hotel as we now know it, with its characteristic octagonal towers, was completed in 1898. Today, Grand Hotell is a modern hotel located in the middle of the Dutch quarter “Hollenderbyen” in Flekkefjord. It was renovated in 2013 and is one of Norway’s Historic Hotels. The hotel has 29 rooms and conference and banquet facilities which has a seating capacity of 130 people.

Maritim Fjordhotel is located in the middle of the city, by the river. The hotel was completely renovated in 2020 in a light, minimalistic and Scandinavian style. Egenes Camping

Egenes camping is one of Norway’s oldest campsites, dating back to the 1930s. Situated by the striking lake, Selura, Egenes is a perfect starting point for a family vacation. Egenes with its beautiful location offers a variety of activities for children and adults. The area is ideal for hiking, fishing and swimming. The campsite also offers rental of canoes, rowing boats, paddle boats and SUP boards.

Flekkefjord Motorhome Camp

The motorhome camp in Flekkefjord is located by the waterfront, a 3 minute to walk to the city centre. Flekkefjord offers more than 100 shops and fine dining options. Grønnes city beach, with its diving tower and exercise equipment is disability adapted and is located 400 meters from the motorhome camp.
Free sanitary facilities, emptying station, electricity, water, public barbecue, herb beds and a nice rest area by the beach. Affordable accommodation and perfect location.

Kongshamn
Guest house

Kongshamn Guest House which was renovated in 2019, is beautifully situated by the waterfront and offers a guest harbor that can accommodate both small and large boats of up to 20 meters. The guest house has two apartments for up to 6 people. Each apartment has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, as well as a living room and a well-equipped kitchen. The apartments can be merged if you are a larger group. The outdoor area is equipped with furniture and built-in kitchen. Kayak and boat rental.

Brufjell hostel & parking

Charging for electric vehicles (3.6 kW). Toilets for all visitors. WiFi, electricity, showers, washing machine, drinking water, and a waste disposal station for motorhomes/caravans. Newly renovated accommodation in double rooms or bungalows, with access to toilets, showers, and a washing machine.

In addition, there is a vending machine with essentials such as coffee, soft drinks, chocolate, phone chargers and cables, toilet paper for motorhomes, etc.

Bjørn Ottersen Apartments

Bjørn Ottersen's Holiday Apartments are situated by the waterfront, 1.5 km from Flekkefjord city centre. If you want to experience an authentic coastal holiday, this is the stay for you! The place offers great swimming and fishing opportunities, and you can also rent a bike or a boat. The cabins are in close proximity to Flekkefjord's exciting shops and excellent restaurants. The luxurious apartments are well equipped. Choose between traditional or modern cabins.

Coastal Cabin in Tarmevika

A charming coastal cabin with a simple and rustic style. The cabin features four fold-out benches that double as sleeping spaces, two fixed hammock spots, and a small loft that can also be used for overnight stays. Remember to bring a sleeping bag, sheets, and a pillowcase. The cabin is not insulated, but its charming atmosphere makes it a perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. at Åna-sira

Logbua is an exotic blend of coastal traditions and italian design. It is situated by the waterfront, in the beautiful Åna-Sira area. The house was built in 1935. It was originally used to clean, dry and store fishing equipment. The building was fully renovated by an architect in 2016. The modern-styled restored sea house has 5 bedrooms, 3 whirlpools and fireplaces. Enjoy a tasty meal on the pier, while sipping a glass of wine. This is the best of two worlds!
